Oxygen Equiment
Northern Respiratory provides clients with one or more of the following oxygen systems:
The system selected for any given client will depend on the client’s oxygen prescription, ability to use the equipment safely, and client’s strength and mobility.
Portable oxygen concentrators
Portable oxygen concentrators (POC) are compact, lightweight, and battery-powered, allowing users to maintain their mobility and independence while receiving oxygen therapy.
They are designed to be easily carried or wheeled around, allowing users to travel, run errands, or engage in other activities.
Portable oxygen concentrators are powered by rechargeable batteries, which can provide several hours of oxygen therapy on a single charge, or used with the DC adapter in a vehicle, and charged or used with AC power outlets.
A POC uses pulse dose oxygen delivery which means that oxygen flows only when you breathe in, unlike the stationary concentrator where oxygen flows continually.
The Northern Respiratory Healthcare professional chooses the most appropriate POC to meet the therapeutic needs of the client. The Inogen POCs are available in a few sizes to accommodate various oxygen prescriptions and mobility levels of our clients.

The Drive IGO2 POC (is an option which Northern Respiratory maintains to have a broad selection of technologies, based on our client’s needs.
For some users, especially those requiring higher oxygen flows, a POC with a continuous flow option is helpful. Northern Respiratory can meet the higher flow demands with the Caire Eclipse POC. This POC offers continuous flow and pulse dose delivery with higher settings.
Stationary oxygen concentrators
Stationary Oxygen Concentrators are a medical device designed to provide a continuous supply of oxygen to individuals who require long-term oxygen therapy on a more continual basis.
The concentrator plugs into a wall outlet and can produce up to 24 hours a day. It is placed in a convenient location in the client’s home with up to 50 ‘of oxygen tubing for movement around the home.
It is not designed for outdoor or mobility use like a portable oxygen concentrator. Flows up to a setting of 10 lpm can be provided accommodating the needs of most clients and allowing for oxygen in the comfort of their own home.
Alarms provide peace of mind ensuring proper operation of the device.
Standard oxygen concentrators
Oxygen cylinders are used as back-up oxygen in case of a power failure or equipment malfunction. Some clients may use it for short periods of use as prescribed.
